Amended 30DEC15 by Watcher Iydris Yewen

Things you should NOT DO

DO NOT commit public displays of affection inside the Temple. This isn't your personal playground; it's a holy place of worship. Kissing, snuggling and other public displays of affection are prohibited. These acts show disrespect, and make others around you uncomfortable.

DO NOT bring weapons inside the Temple. The most important aspect of worshiping Elune is that she represents peace. Bringing weapons of war inside the Temple is not prohibited and instead shows disrespect and hostility. Conceal weapons in your bag or leave them at the door.**

DO NOT run around, shout, or be loud. This is a place for quiet meditation; there are people around you praying. Don't disrupt them.

DO NOT wear boots or regular shoes inside the Temple. Sandals and other light footwear are authorized.**

DO NOT touch the Moonwell water! This water was taken from the Well of Eternity under Nordrassil, in Mount Hyjal. It contains the blessing of the Dragons Aspects and Elune herself.

DO NOT interrupt a sermon. If there is a sermon taking place, stay quiet and watch if you wish.

Other minor notes:

The Temple is a public space; feel free to come inside and seek spiritual guidance or a blessing of any of the Priestesses. While inside the Temple you should treat the Priestesses with respect.

With special thanks to Keeper Palandris Silvermist (retired),
Watcher Iydris Yewen

**Sentinels acting in the Temple's defense do not remove their shoes nor their weapons.

((OOC NOTES))
((Death Knights are not allowed inside.
Night Elves don't know Wisps are spirits of the dead, there is a Legend that says they are. But most believe they are simply spirits of nature.
Mages should feel attracted to the Moonwell, but should not be allowed near it.
Think of how you behave inside of a Church or Mosque in real life, this is the equivalent. It's where Elune communicates with her followers, so show respect!
The Statue in the middle is not a statue of Elune. That is the statue of Heidene, the first High Priestess of Elune and Tyrande's predecessor.))

Fantastic points. Most people aren't intentionally trying to be insensitive but rather just do not know or never really thought about it. I usually don't say anything unless it's something really obnoxious like when two gnomes made love in the Moonwell. Besides just being rude, I couldn't help but think the knee high water would be a bit problematic for their height challenges ;)

My biggest wish is that the portal wasn't in the Temple creating an expressway as people run to do their holiday events and what not.

I know people don't do it intentionally, but the best way to combat ignorance is with information! At least people from our guild will know it.

About the Gnomes... Usually when it's like that I just ignore it lol! Especially if they are from Moonguard.

Wonderful guide, Palandris. Wearing weapons and footwear in the temple has always been a pet peeve of mine.

Adellwyna does wear a mace or staff in the Temple, but as I consider these ceremonial/ornamental instead of for combat, I don't usually remove them.
A little kindness goes a long way.

Thanks for the guide. Sae doesn't gravitate around the Temple of Elune much and I hadn't really thought of the boots courtesy. It's unlikely that it'd ever become a problem, but it's appreciated knowledge nonetheless.

I'm from MG. I can personally attest to the fact that it isn't all that bad in a lot of places. But in some, you get those gnomes and Eredar shamans and Deathknights fighting in the Cathedral. The Temple of Elune seems to have fewer such incidents, but...

Just ignore 'em and if need be report them for harassment. As you said. Yes.

There are Sentinel NPC's inside who carry glaives and bows. That being so, Sentinels are to remove their weapons and shoes when entering the Temple unless acting in the Temple's defense.

This is a fantastic guide, thank you for making it Paladris. All these things have been a question I've mine in the past and I've never done the research. I was ignorant to a lot of this info.
I'm sure this will come in handy for any and everyone here.

I haven't really thought of the boots/no weapons thing either, but very nice guide nonetheless!
