![]() Commander 2427 Posts | ![]() The Sentinels are summoned to Ashenvale by a Druidess Moonwhisper, who has asked for their aid. ![]() She explains the situation to them, that someone...or something...has been killing much of the local wildlife and local travelers. To make matters worse, the killings seem to be done for enjoyment, not for hunting. As they talk, a furbolg horn sounds in the distance... ![]() They set off immediately to investigate the closest furbolg settlement, Greenpaw Village. ![]() The Sentinels make a horrifying discovery upon their arrival: most of the village has been destroyed, and a great many of its warriors slain. Most of the women and children seem to be missing. One survivor mentions the name "Ormu," whom, according to Druidess Moonwhisper, is an ancient bear and longtime noble guardian of eastern Ashenvale. ![]() Hearing another furbolg horn, the Sentinels hurry through the village. Along the base of a cliff they find the survivors cornered by an immense bear. It is, or was, Ormu. However, he is now twisted and corrupted. Driven mad, Ormu seems only to care about killing everything around him. ![]() ![]() The Sentinels and their allies charge forward and engage Ormu in a vicious fight, trying to save the furbolg survivors from a horrible fate. ![]() After a lengthy battle, the once-noble Ormu is finally slain, giving him peace from his torment. Strangely, he has a magical rune branded into his flank. The symbols seem to match those used by the Shadow Council... ![]() At Ormu's den the Sentinels make another disturbing discovery: the bodies of many cultists, perhaps those who perished trying to brand the great bear with the magical runes that drove him insane. Why would they do such a thing? For what purpose? And who ordered them to do it? A little kindness goes a long way. |

![]() Sentinel 70 Posts | Miekketar could feel her stomach beginning to knot up as her conversation with Niladrys drew to a close. She wished she had been able to talk her friend out of trying to see her father, but she never really thought she would be able to. Miekketar didn't always trust Nila's judgement, but had to admit she was right in this case. Miek had no reason to believe she would walk out of a meeting with Nila's father alive, while Nila could likely avoid an immediate fight to the death. Still, she wished her friend wouldn't go. Miekketar tried to act as normal as she could leaving her friend's house, but she was profoundly worried. She could feel tears welling up in her eyes, but sure she was able to keep any from running down her face. Well, reasonably sure. edit- sorry, was trying to post this on the other thread, but it ended up here. |

![]() Commander 2427 Posts | ![]() *Carefully tacked to the Bunk House noticeboard.* Sentinels! A representative of the Emerald Circle, Elessa Starbreeze, has requested our immediate aid in combating and cleansing the fel taint and demonic forces that have long pervaded the dark groves of Felwood. For too long these sacred woods have known only corruption and misery. Unfortunately, even with the Emerald Circle's best efforts, the ancient woods remain a dangerous and polluted place. To make matters worse, the druids of the Circle have noticed a resurgence of dark forces deliberately attempting to hinder their efforts. Who or what is behind this remains unknown. I have agreed to this request and pledged a small expeditionary Sentinel unit to assist in their endeavor. Whether or not the situation in Felwood bears any relation to our recent encounter in Ashenvale remains to be seen. But I believe it bears worth in investigating. If there is truly a hold-out group of Shadow Council fanatics operating in Felwood, they must be rooted out with severe prejudice. Signed, Commander Adellwyna Wintershade A little kindness goes a long way. |

Bright red flowers soon begin to blossom from the pods, releasing clouds of sweet-smelling spores into the air. Four Sentinels inhale the spores and slump to the floor, fast asleep and caught in a nightmare dream!
