Part 1. Last Full Measure

A call for reinforcements. Huntress Stagstalker reveals the reason behind her urgent plea for help. While on aerial patrol, her wingman, Outrunner Dashwood, has been shot down over Mor'shan Ramparts and taken prisoner.

Diversionary attack. While Mir'rale leads a smaller rescue party to retrieve the fallen Outrunner, the rest of the Sentinels attack the main fortifications by air. Unfortunately, they are expected, and must withstand a hail of arrows and eventual arrival of orc windriders.

The brief but fierce skirmish does its purpose though, and Outrunner Dashwood is pulled to safety.

The fallen Huntress. But their effort is not without loss. Many of the Sentinels are severely injured; most serious amongst them Huntress Stagstalker herself. Using her own body to shield the Outrunner during their escape, she has taken an arrow through the back, close to her heart.

Despite the best efforts of the Cadre's healers, Mir'rale barely clings to life. Whether she survives the night is in serious doubt.

The wounded are taken to nearby Silverwing Outpost. Here they can only rest, wait, and hope...

Part 2. Decisions

A fateful gathering. With the Cadre gathered solemnly around the unconscious body of Huntress Stagstalker, Adellwyna and Orrin Highblade brief them on the situation. Due to the severity of her injury, Mir'rale's spirit has passed from this world and into the Shadowlands. Despite the best efforts of their healers, her body remains alive but the soul is lost.

A glimmer of hope. Orrin Highblade, a long-time ally of the Sentinels, reveals a possible way to reunite the body of the fallen Huntress with her spirit: venture in to the Shadowlands. Using his death gate, he can briefly open a one-way portal; but to which of the infinite realms of the Shadowlands it will take them is uncertain.

Almost to a Sentinel, those gathered volunteer for this dangerous mission. How they will find Mir'rale's spirit, and reunite it with her physical form is still a great unknown. But they feel they must try. Adellwyna gives them one week to prepare...

Part 3. Crossing Over

Final assembly, and a blessing from Huntress Duskrunner.

Commander Highblade summons his death gate. One by one, the Sentinels step through, uncertain what awaits them on the other side.

Unfamiliar surroundings. The Sentinels find themselves packed into a large room, with many other fighters. All seem to be in various states of decay, and armed with crude weapons. More importantly, they seem to be waiting for something farther inside the structure.

Surprisingly, they catch a glimpse of a Night Elf, far across the room. But before they can ascertain more, a horn sounds and the mass of fighters rush through a narrow tunnel and outside.

Theatre of Pain. Emerging outside, the Sentinels find themselves in a massive arena, the bottom of which is now filled with a swirling, vicious melee.

Cutting their way through. The Sentinels are caught up on the wild and chaotic battle, and must fight their way out.

Along the way they meet up with the mysterious Night Elf, who agrees to help battle their way to the exit and 'safety.'

Stagstalker found? Once clear of the arena, they have a moment to pause and take stock. The mysterious Night Elf fighter removes her mask, revealing herself to be none other than Mir'rale herself! But something is amiss, as she does not seem to recognize anyone present, other than Guardian Nightbreeze.

Strangers in a strange land. Maldraxxus is like nothing they have seen before; completely foreign and more than a little disturbing. The question now presents itself: where do they go now? How do they escape this nightmare realm?

Mysterious benefactor. A blood and gore-covered bear approaches the group; unthreatening and saying nothing, the creature indicates it wishes for them to follow. With a lack of better options, the Sentinels follow across the alien landscape.

Another surprise. The 'bear' leads the Sentinels to secluded and long-unused structure where they can rest and decide their next course of action. Their benefactor then shifts into the form of a Night Elf, revealing it to be none other than Adellwyna's long-lost mate, Elyssand. After a very awkward reunion, Elyssand agrees to return with someone that might help them with their plight.

A dark pact. Elyssand eventually returns, but with a rather disturbing companion: a lich. The powerful undead agrees to help the Sentinels leave Maldraxxus, but for a price. They must first retrieve a book of necromancy from the House of Eyes. He warns them of dire consequences should they open the book.

The Sentinels pause here to rest and prepare for the next challenge that awaits them. Meanwhile, something does not seem entirely right with Huntress Stagstalker. She seems unwhole, her memory incomplete. Their search may not yet be over...

Part 4. The Eyes Have It

Assembly and briefing. Adellwyna reminds the Sentinels of their goal this evening: to recover a lost tome of necromancy for the lich Alchazor. In return for the book, he has offered to transport them out of Maldraxxus.

Setting out across the alien and nightmarish landscape.

The House of Eyes. Filling this sprawling valley, the once-mighty house has fallen to ruin, a victim of the civil war that rages in Maldraxxus. Everything is coated in webs, and spiders lurk around each turn.

The Sightless Hold. Once a repository for knowledge, now its tunnels are a lair for unsavory creatures.

Meeting the matriarch. The Sentinels find themselves in a 'sticky' situation. The queen mother of the spiders that lair here taunts them with the tome of necromancy, offering it in return for a warm body to feast on. The Sentinels refuse and a fierce battle against the spiders ensues.

Fighting withdrawl. With the book in their possession, the Sentinels fight their way out of the web-choked tunnels and seal the exit with a barrier of ice.

Paradise found? Keeping his end of the bargain, the lich Alchazor teleports the Sentinels and their allies to Bastion. This land is a far cry from the barren wastes of Maldraxxus.

Greeted by a small owl creature who offers food, refreshments, and a safe place to camp, the Sentinels decide to rest before deciding on their next course. The creature offers to fetch an "Ascended" who might be able to answer their many questions....
