Importing quests

~ First, make sure you have Total RP2!
~ Second, you need the pack file, named totalRP2_ImpExport.lua
~ Navigate to your World of Warcraft > WTF > Account > {your account} > Saved Variables folder and paste the file there; before launching the game
~ Launch World of Warcraft, click on the seal-pup icon on your mini-map, then the swiss-army-knife. Click the import icon in the middle of the page.
~ Most of the time there will be only one creation in the pack, but there may be multiples. Check which creations you want and click!
~ Make sure that on this 'creations' page you have the top-right box ticked "Display creations by others"

Starting quests

~ Click on the seal-pup icon on your mini-map, then the chalice (quests) button - 3rd from the left.
~ Click the + button
~ Make sure the bottom right-hand box is ticked "Others' creations"
~ Click the quest you want to do
~ A quest box will pop up with 4 options to use while doing Total RP2 quests

Doing quests

~ The quest toolbar is on screen when you have an ACTIVE quest. The quest must be active for you to get credit for doing certain actions.
~ Hover the mouse over the quest portion of the toolbar and it will give you a summary of the quest in full, and under 'recently' it will tell you what step you are up to. This is useful if you get lost, distracted or otherwise forget where you were up to.
~ Each step of a quest requires you to do one of 4 different actions; Look, Listen, Search, Speak. The following are some tips to making this work successfully.

Look:
~ If the requirement is to look at a character this is accomplished by pressing the look button, or using the /look emote.
~ Make sure you have the character targeted, and are in 'duel range' (9yds).
~ If the requirement is to look around the area, make sure you don't have anything targeted.

Listen:
~ If the requirement is to listen to a character this is accomplished by pressing the listen button, or using the /listen emote.
~ Make sure you have the character targeted, and are in 'duel range' (9yds).
~ If the requirement is to listen, make sure you don't have anything targeted.

Search:
~ If the requirement is to search a character this is accomplished by pressing the search button, or using the /search emote.
~ Make sure you have the character targeted, and are in 'duel range' (9yds).
~ [u]Get into the habit of searching any mob you have been asked to kill[/] - this is frequently how quests progress.
~ If the requirement is to search the area, make sure you don't have anything targeted.

Speak:
~ Probably the most important of the actions;
~ Sometimes all you need for a quest is to press the speak button, or /talk to a character to trigger the event
~ Other times you need to actually SAY something to the character, using a 'magic word' which will trigger the event - read the quest detail carefully, this information should be provided. This magic word might also be an emote.

Finally - READ the quest detail carefully.
Look for specific instructions on what to /say, and who to search.

Have Fun! :)

Welcome to Hesopotamia! Please, take off your shoes before entering. Thank you.

Keenstar's really sad theme when she has to peel onions and potatoes for dinner.

I'm glad this is here, thank you! I've used a lot of the RP mods before but never TRP2.

An excellent guide for those who don't know where to begin. Two thumbs up from me.

We were talking about this in game this evening; with the discontinuation of Total RP2 last month (and no one picking it up as to my knowledge yet to continue it), what is our plan for if / when TRP2 doesn't work after a patch? Roll over to MRP? Certainly does not have all the nice bells and whistles that this addon has, but there are a few other additional addons out there that can partially compensate for what MRP is lacking.

We might have to eventually. I've only had minor issues with it so far.

Hopefully someone else will pick up the mod and keep updating it.
A little kindness goes a long way.
